Albert Comes Home: Pujols signs a deal with the St. Louis Cardinals, says this will be the end of the line.
Cardinals fans rejoiced as their hero returned from Los Angeles. 1B and current utility man or designated hitter Albert Pujols returned on a 1 year, $2.5 million dollar deal. It’s shaping up to be the final year for a Cardinal trinity: Adam Wainwright, Yadier Molina, and now Pujols.
NFL New Rooney Rule: Include Women or Minority
The NFL announced an amendment to its long-standing Rooney Rule, which required teams to have a minority on the coaching staff, but did not necessarily need to be head coach. Now, the NFL is expanding the scope of the “minority” standard to include women. All 32 teams must have a minority or a woman as an offensive assistant on staff for the 2022–23 season.
Messi Signs $20m Cryptocurrency Deal
The international superstar and arguably world’s second-best player behind Cristiano Ronaldo inked a deal with Socios.com to issue digital fan tokens. Messi also receives part of his salary from French team Paris Saint-Germain in cryptocurrency.
