PEACOCKS CAN FLY: St. Peter’s Downs Purdue, Becomes First 15-Seed to Reach Elite Eight
“What they gonna say now?” — St. Peter’s Head Coach, Shaheen Holloway
What a team, what a ride. How far can these guys go? Saint Peter’s will face UNC for a trip to the Big Easy and a berth in the Final Four. North Carolina pulled away late behind sophomore Caleb Love’s 30 points and deadly shooting down the stretch.
Fun fact: All but one player on Saint Peter’s scored a point. This team plays for each other, and even though this the first time a 15-seed has reached the Elite Eight, who says it can’t be the first time they reach a Final Four?
SECOND CHANCE IN CLEVELAND? Deshaun Watson Faces the Music as the Browns Introduce their next Quarterback
Recently, Watson was exonerated of criminal charges against 22 women who have claimed sexual assault or harassment charges against Watson. However, he faces 22 civil suits, which could be costly for the Browns new quarterback, both in economic and morality terms. Watson maintained his innocence in a conference with reporters today in Cleveland.
TIMBER! Despite Doncic’s Double-Double, Towns and Timberwolves Send Mavericks Home with a 21-Point Loss
It was all Minnesota, as they expanded their record to 43–32, good for seventh in the Eastern Conference. The Wolves are right on the heels of the Denver Nuggets for the sixth seed, but sit comfortably above the Clippers in avoiding that final seed. Dallas lost their lead on a dunk by Karl-Anthony Towns at 2:33 remaining in the first quarter, and never got it back, with the Timberwolves even reaching a 25-point lead in the fourth quarter.
